Auburn MA Real Estate

AUBURN - Auburn was first incorporated in 1778 as the town of Ward. The name was changed to Auburn in 1837 as a result of the Post Office complaining that the name Ward was too similar to nearby Ware.
Auburn holds the distinction of being the site of the first launch of a liquid propelled rocket by Dr. Robert H. Goddard in 1926.
Presently, the town is a blend of commercial and residential interests that also retains some of the scenic farmland vistas of the past. It's primarily a bedroom community for its residents and commuters travel as far west as Springfield and east all the way to Boston.
